Community Guidelines

Last updated: June 4, 2026

These Community Guidelines explain the standards for using Snagg. They are intended to help keep Snagg useful, respectful, low-drama, privacy-conscious, and safer for local marketplace activity, reviews, recommendations, messages, and practical local information.

Snagg may update these Guidelines as the platform develops.

1. Welcome to Snagg

Snagg is designed to help local communities buy, sell, review, recommend, and share practical local information with less friction.

The goal is simple:

  • help people buy and sell useful items;
  • reduce moving and relocation friction;
  • share practical local information;
  • keep the platform community-focused;
  • reduce scams, spam, drama, privacy risks, and safety concerns.

Snagg is an independent community platform. Snagg is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, operated by, or officially connected to any government agency, public authority, employer, school, contractor, organization, facility, or official representative unless explicitly stated by Snagg.

Snagg is intended to feel useful, lightweight, respectful, and trustworthy.

2. Community Expectations

Be Honest

Users should post truthful listings, reviews, messages, and community information to the best of their knowledge.

Do not:

  • scam people;
  • mislead buyers or sellers;
  • post fake listings;
  • impersonate others;
  • pretend to be Snagg staff, moderators, businesses, organizations, public authorities, or official representatives;
  • manipulate reviews;
  • use fake urgency, pressure tactics, or deceptive claims;
  • misrepresent item condition, price, availability, ownership, or location.

If activity appears scammy, deceptive, manipulative, dishonest, or harmful to the community, Snagg may remove, restrict, hide, review, or disable it.

Be Respectful

Disagreements happen. Criticism is allowed, including negative reviews and honest feedback. Keep criticism constructive, factual, and reasonably mature.

Do not:

  • harass users;
  • threaten people;
  • dox others;
  • share private information;
  • encourage abuse campaigns;
  • post hate speech;
  • target users based on identity, affiliation, background, or personal status;
  • use excessive vulgarity, intimidation, or abusive behavior;
  • revenge-post or coordinate attacks against people, businesses, organizations, or moderators.

Reviews and criticism are allowed. Personal attacks, intimidation, harassment, doxing, and abuse are not.

3. Protect Privacy and Safety

Snagg is not a secure communication system. Assume anything posted publicly may eventually be screenshotted, shared externally, archived, recorded, copied, or redistributed outside the platform.

Do not post:

  • restricted or confidential information;
  • sensitive access, safety, facility, or security information;
  • restricted facility or access information;
  • security procedures;
  • sensitive operational or security details;
  • secure communication details;
  • exact residential addresses;
  • personally identifiable information about others;
  • passwords, credentials, access codes, or account information;
  • official documents or restricted documents;
  • anything that could put people, facilities, privacy, safety, or security at risk.

If you would not want something publicly shared, do not post or message it through Snagg.

Snagg may remove, restrict, hide, or escalate content that appears to create privacy, security, legal, safety, or platform-integrity concerns.

4. Marketplace Rules

Allowed Marketplace Use

Snagg is primarily intended for practical community marketplace activity, including moving sales, relocation-related sales, household goods, furniture, electronics, vehicles, everyday secondhand items, and local community marketplace activity.

Users are responsible for verifying listings, inspecting items, confirming ownership, and exercising common sense before completing any transaction.

Snagg does not verify users, identity or community connection, listings, ownership claims, item condition, payments, reviews, businesses, or transaction legitimacy unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Transactions Are Between Users

Snagg provides a platform for community marketplace activity, but Snagg is not a party to transactions between users.

Users are responsible for:

  • verifying items;
  • confirming ownership;
  • inspecting condition;
  • agreeing on price;
  • arranging safe pickup or delivery details;
  • complying with applicable laws, facility rules, customs rules, and local regulations;
  • protecting their own safety and privacy;
  • deciding whether to trust another user.

Snagg does not guarantee:

  • listings;
  • buyers;
  • sellers;
  • payments;
  • item condition;
  • authenticity;
  • availability;
  • delivery;
  • title, registration, or ownership;
  • transaction outcomes;
  • dispute resolution between users.

If something feels suspicious, rushed, manipulative, unusually complicated, or too good to be true, slow down and verify before proceeding.

Prohibited Marketplace Content

The following content, listings, or activity may be removed, restricted, hidden, or prohibited:

  • illegal goods or services;
  • counterfeit goods;
  • controlled substances;
  • prescription medications;
  • stolen property;
  • government property not authorized for sale;
  • export-controlled items;
  • issued or restricted equipment not authorized for resale;
  • restricted weapons, firearms, ammunition, or explosives;
  • tobacco, nicotine, or vape products where restricted;
  • hazardous materials;
  • recalled products;
  • fraudulent documents;
  • scam or spam listings;
  • excessive reposting, commercial spam, link farming, or referral spam;
  • adult sexual services or explicit sexual commerce;
  • animal sales, breeding, or transfer activity;
  • regulated food activity;
  • fundraising, donation requests, raffles, or crowdfunding unless explicitly permitted by Snagg;
  • items or services that create legal, safety, privacy, or operational concerns.

Snagg may restrict or prohibit additional categories as the platform develops.

No Animal Marketplace

Snagg is not intended to operate as a live animal marketplace. Animal sales, breeding, transfers, adoptions, rehoming, or related marketplace activity may be removed. Safe missing-pet or found-pet informational posts may be allowed at Snagg's discretion.

No Food Marketplace

Snagg is not intended to operate as a food marketplace. Food sales, homemade food distribution, catering activity, meal prep sales, or other regulated food activity may be removed.

No Fundraising or Crowdfunding

Fundraising, donation requests, raffles, crowdfunding, financial solicitation, or similar activity may be restricted or prohibited. Snagg may allow limited community-support information at its discretion, but users should not treat Snagg as a fundraising platform.

5. Posting Rules

Keep Posts Clean, Useful, and Practical

Users are encouraged to keep posts clear, honest, respectful, helpful, practical, and reasonably tasteful.

The following may be removed, restricted, hidden, or reviewed:

  • nudity;
  • explicit sexual content;
  • graphic violence;
  • shock content;
  • excessive vulgarity;
  • spam;
  • repetitive posting;
  • rage-bait content;
  • scam-style messaging;
  • misleading claims;
  • privacy-invasive content;
  • content that creates unnecessary drama or safety concerns.

Snagg is not intended to be a place for harassment, gossip campaigns, public shaming, or hostile community disputes.

No Public Contact Information

Do not publicly post:

  • personal phone numbers;
  • personal email addresses;
  • exact residential addresses;
  • payment handles intended to bypass platform safeguards;
  • outside links intended to move users off-platform;
  • private contact information belonging to another person.

Users are responsible for protecting their own privacy. Snagg may remove or restrict posts that expose personal information or encourage users to move into unsafe or unmoderated communication channels.

6. Reviews and Local Information

Reviews and local community information should help the community make better decisions. Be honest, fair, and constructive. Negative reviews are allowed.

However, the following may be removed, restricted, hidden, or reviewed:

  • harassment;
  • revenge posting;
  • doxing;
  • fabricated claims;
  • coordinated abuse;
  • manipulated reviews;
  • spam reviews;
  • privacy-invasive content;
  • unsupported claims that create legal or safety concerns;
  • content that appears clearly misleading, abusive, or harmful.

Reviews may expire, archive, or become less visible after approximately one year. Snagg may also limit or remove reviews or local information due to legal complaints, investigations, operational concerns, privacy concerns, safety concerns, or platform-integrity reasons.

Snagg does not guarantee the accuracy of reviews, local information, business information, or user-submitted claims.

7. Messaging Rules

Snagg messaging is intended for practical communication related to the platform.

Conversation history is intended to be temporary and may become unavailable or be automatically deleted after approximately 72 hours unless retained or extended for operational, security, abuse-prevention, moderation, legal, troubleshooting, or platform-integrity reasons.

Users should not assume messages are secure, private forever, permanently retained, permanently deleted, or impossible to copy or share.

Do not use messaging to:

  • harass users;
  • threaten users;
  • send spam;
  • send scams;
  • send explicit sexual content;
  • share sensitive operational information;
  • share passwords, credentials, or private personal information;
  • pressure users into unsafe transactions;
  • move users into suspicious payment or communication methods.

Users should assume that messages may still be screenshotted, copied, photographed, recorded, or shared externally. Do not message anything you would not want publicly exposed.

8. Emergencies

Snagg is not an emergency reporting system. Do not use Snagg to report emergencies, crimes in progress, threats to life or safety, medical emergencies, urgent security incidents, domestic violence emergencies, active threats, or time-sensitive law-enforcement matters.

Contact appropriate emergency services, law enforcement, medical providers, or official authorities.

Snagg cannot guarantee immediate review or response to urgent matters.

9. Moderation

Snagg may use:

  • user reports;
  • human moderators;
  • volunteer moderators;
  • automated safety systems;
  • operational review tools;
  • administrative review.

Moderators are human. Moderation decisions may not always be immediate or perfect. Users are encouraged to report issues constructively and avoid harassment toward moderators, administrators, or community volunteers.

Snagg may remove, restrict, hide, demote, label, investigate, disable, suspend, or ban content, listings, reviews, accounts, messages, or activity that appear:

  • unsafe;
  • abusive;
  • deceptive;
  • fraudulent;
  • manipulative;
  • spam-related;
  • privacy-invasive;
  • related to sensitive safety or security information;
  • related to restricted access or facility information;
  • legally risky;
  • harmful to the platform;
  • harmful to the community;
  • inconsistent with these Guidelines.

Snagg may take action at its discretion, even if a specific behavior is not listed in these Guidelines.

10. Enforcement and Review

Snagg may provide a way for users to ask for review of certain moderation decisions, but review is not guaranteed.

Some decisions may be final, especially when they involve:

  • safety concerns;
  • fraud concerns;
  • privacy concerns;
  • sensitive safety or security concerns;
  • restricted access or facility information;
  • legal concerns;
  • abuse prevention;
  • platform integrity;
  • repeated violations.

Snagg may also restrict accounts or content during review to protect the community. Repeated or serious violations may result in account suspension or removal.

11. Community Culture

Snagg works best when users:

  • help each other;
  • keep things practical;
  • protect privacy;
  • be practical;
  • avoid unnecessary drama;
  • verify before trusting;
  • report scams constructively;
  • understand that moving and local transitions can be stressful.

The goal is not perfection. The goal is a platform that stays useful, trustworthy, lightweight, and community-focused.

12. Not an Official Service

Snagg is not a government platform, law-enforcement service, emergency-response system, secure communication system, or legal, financial, medical, or professional advice service.

Snagg does not officially verify users, businesses, reviews, listings, identity, ownership, credentials, or claims unless explicitly stated otherwise. Users are responsible for making their own decisions and verifying information before relying on it.

13. Reporting Sensitive Information

If content appears to contain genuinely restricted, improperly disclosed, privacy-invasive, dangerous, unlawful, or sensitive access/security information, users or authorized representatives may contact Snagg for review.

Where reasonably possible, sensitive-content reports should come from a verifiable email address and include enough information for Snagg to identify and review the content.

Snagg may remove, restrict, hide, or preserve content depending on safety, legal, operational, and platform-integrity needs.
